Rampage: Total Destruction

Oh. the good old days, with games like pac-man, super mario brothers, and, one of my personal favorites, Rampage. You all know Rampage, Eating, and destroying everything that comes in your path is fair game.
Well, Midway has now released the closest thing Rampage has to a sequel, and it is called Rampage: Total destruction. and the point of the game is, you guessed it, destroying entire citys. Unfortanetley this is the games low point as well as the highpoint. on one hand destroying blocks of building and streets full of cars and people as a choice of 30, yes 30 different monsters, is very and i repeat very satisfying. on the other hand, this play can get very and i repeat very repetitive. but it will take quite a while to get repetitive with the selection of citys and monsters to choose from.
now, everyone knows that one of the most important things in Rampage is your monster. and yes, the werewolf, ape, and lizard were good and all. they just weren't good enough. fans wanted more, and, while they had to wait a really long time, they got more, 27 more to be exact. the new rosters of monsters has 27 new and different creatures, and they are as follows. there is a Ram, blowfish, squid, crocodile, shark, rat, lion, cyclops, bull, echidna, warthog, tortoise, king cobra, plant, yeti (who is named harry, after the yeti in the movie Harry and the Hendersons, points for Midway!) Armadillo, Nautilus, rock thing, Wildman, Jackalope, Demon, Invader, bat, Jellyfish, Ungulate, Alien, and a blob. yes, the variety is amazing. and they all have slightly differing speed, strength and jump ability they are all generally the same. And what really stinks about this that there is only four special attacks. they aren't any different for any monster, all the exact same attack that looks exactly the same, and takes the exact same time to do, For EVERY monster. this may not be a big deal, but come on, the game is all about destroying. wouldn't you want more than four ways to do it?
While this game has some minor flaws, it is still an awesome time at the core.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: the Sith Lords

This is one game i can describe in one sentence, Addicting and Fun. While this game isn't the cream of the crop in all of the star war games out there, it is the top on my honorable mentions list.
CHARACTER CREATION: When you start a new game, you make a character. Now, before you think," Oh boy, character Creation!" i must tell you it isn't that great. You choose what class you want to be, a jedi gaurdian (tank), a jedi consular (force master), or a sentinel who is a little bit of both, and decide if you want your character male or female. Then you choose a hairstyle and get onto...
GAMEPLAY: This game has a simple concept. Kill as many monsters as you can and gain as many levels as possible while planet hopping in attempts to evade the sith force that is hard on your heels. This may sound like it can get VERY repetitive the editors kept it fresh by adding litterally HUNDREDS of side missions and interesting little villages and citys on every planet you visit. Now, you're probably thinking," but wouldn't it be lonely to do this on your own?" Don't fret, LucasArts was thinking about this when they put people in the game that would be more than happy to join your...
PARTY: your party can have up to ten people in it, but you can only take 2 out on the field at the same time, so choose wisely. My favorite party for the first few planets consists of 1 up close fighter, like the handmaiden, or kreia. A blaster, like Bao Dur, Mandalore, or Atton. And Myself.
Another added perk for party members is that you can teach ceartain members ways of the force, such as Bao Dur, Atton, and Handmaiden. but the only way you'll get enough trust from your party members to let them teach you is by increasing your influence over them. and the only way you increase your influence is by being "nice" to them in your conversations. For example. if you are having a conversation with Kreia and Atton, and you are mean and wicked to Kreia but somewhat hospitable to Atton, You will lose influence with Kreia, but gain influence over Atton because you were mean to kreia (Atton doesn't like Kreia) and nice to him. though you wouldn't want your party members to be low classes like the gaurdian, consular, or Sentinel so you would upgrade them to a...
ADVANCED CLASS: The advanced classes are Jedi Weapon Master and Sith Marauder who specialize in damage dealing. then there is the Sith Assassin or Jedi Watchman who enjoy sneaking up from behind and dealing the fatal blow. Then again there is the Sith Lord or Jedi Master who like to cast force upon there opponents from afar. as an added bonus if your a sith lords or jedi master you urge your party members to follow your alignment.
This is an amazing game and i strongly reccommend it to star wars fans and rpg fans.

Black and White

In Black and White for the pc, you play as a god and control peasants, and your creature. the peasents are people that build your empire, though you don't have direct control over them, you can still tell them what to do. For example, you can pick up a villager and place him next to something that needs to be built and the villager will become a "desciple builder". you can do the same to make foresters, breeders, and fishers.
Your creature is another story. you have the choice between a tiger, cow, and a ape. the ape isn't a real good fighter but he learns very fast. a cow is a strong fighter but pretty dumb and a tiger is a bit of both. I prefer the tiger because they're easier to feed, all you have to do is hand them a villager or cow and they'll eat it, if they're hungry.
You can also do certain things to become good or evil. if you want to be evil, you have to act like it! There is a quest where a girl wants you to find her brother who has become lost and she will give you an item essential to completing a bigger quest, and yes the quests often overlap. well, what I did to become evil, i took a giant rock, smashed her house (whitch gave me the item) then found and killed her brother. and if your going *gasp*! ITS JUST A GAME PEOPLE! but if you wanted to be good all you had to do was find her brother and return him. another way to be evil or good is to go to your village, pick up a villager and chuck as far as you can. this of course is how to be evil, but if you want to be good do nice things like cast water miracles on the crops to make them grow, or cast wood miracle into the village store.
When i said the word 'miracle' you were probably wondering, "whats that?" well, a miracle is a "spell" you can cast and even teach your creature (if he has the rope leash on). using miracles like the heal miracle of the food miracle is to nice for me. i prefer the lightning bolt miracle or the fireball miracle, whitch are both good at setting things on fire. a really annoying thing is when you kill villagers and your good concience is all,"don't, ju-just don't!" and gets all whiney.
Overall i love this game. its one of the best i've ever played, besides EQ2 of course.
I can't wait to get Black and White 2 and i reccommend you do too.

Here is my EQ2 story. much anticipated

Nanners Adventuring Journal
Day 1
I arrived on the Isle of Refuge after a somewhat exciting boat ride there. As soon as I set foot on the sandy beach I was called over by a rough-looking man named Galdam Trum. He asked me what class I would like to be, a fighter, mage, priest, or scout. I was kind of interested in what a priest did so I asked him
“Priests basically hold the life of their fellow adventurers in their hands.” He informed me.
I said,” A bit too much responsibility for me.”
Galdam laughed,” maybe you would like to try something else.”
“How about a fighter?” I asked.
Galdam told me,” Fighters really get in the battle and stick it to the enemy.”
I got nervous; I never really slew or fought anything before in my entire life.
Galdam must have noticed me squirm for he then said,” you know, if you choose to be a fighter, you would prove the barbarians wrong.”
“About what?” I asked.
“Well, the barbarians say they’re the only ones brave enough to get into the fight, but I don’t know if its true.” Galdam said
How dare they! They better know that my kind, the Frogloks, have been fighting Ogres and Trolls, the most warlike creatures to walk the land of Norrath, for thousands of years! Not only that but we beat the monstrous creations in a battle that would make the barbarians shiver!
“I’ll show them!” I said.
“Good, go to the west gate and slay a few goblins and when your done return to me.” Galdam said with a smile.
He handed me a sword and I was off. I finally got to the west gate but when I saw all those goblins I got nervous once more. When I felt brave enough to fight, I stepped out from behind the safety of the bunker and challenged the nearest one.
The thing turned its ugly head and cackled, “They send froggies to fight, hahahaha!”
I of course took this as a insult and became enraged. The goblin lunged at me and I lashed out with my sword. I don’t think it had a chance at all, it must have been dead before it hit the ground.
After slaying a few more I strode proudly back to Galdam. He congratulated me and told me to go to a man named Brunswick if I wished to further my education as a fighter.
When I got to him he told me to cut off the enemy supplies by killing the goblin supply runners before I even introduced myself. But he didn’t seem like a man that would like to have things other than his way so I did as I was told.
As I got to the supply camp I realized the fights would be harder because it seemed the goblins worked in pairs.
Something gave me an advantage though. These creatures didn’t attack me on sight, but that did make me feel guilty about killing them. But I had a task and I had to carry it out.
When I was done with my dirty work I headed back to Brunswick and he then ordered me to take out the goblin leader, an orc named Grimgash the Black. Brunswick said it was like cutting off the snakes’ head, if you did that you would kill the body. Good sense, but I would definitely need a team.
After searching the island for a few hours I came up with a strong four-man team. It consisted of a Erudite mage named Methuselah, a Gnome priest named Tibbit, a Half Elf scout named Aaron and myself. Before we headed out to defeat Grimgash we decided to take a break and set up camp.
Day 2
Today we set out to defeat the evil Grimgash, but fist things first, we needed a leader. After voting it was clear I was nominated. While this made me proud it also made me feel responsible for the lives of my teammates.
After a quick meal we went in search of the cave Grimgash was holed up in. After asking around a bit we learned that his cave is near a large tree, but we would have to get through hordes of goblins to get there. This will be a long day, I thought.
We fought are way to the cave and it took almost all day. If it hadn’t been for Tibbit, I don’t thing we would have made it. We finally found the tree, tree house actually.
“Well, here’s the tree.” Aaron whispered.
Methuselah said,” Yes, but a tree swarming with goblins isn’t our goal, a orc in a cave is.”
All of the sudden Tibbit shouted,” Over there, look!” and pointed to a crude door in the side of a hill.
I said,” Great work!, but there are too many goblins in our way to get there easily.”
“No problem.” Aaron said.
Just as soon as she said it she turned invisible, a common trick among scouts. And the nearest goblin then fell without a sound, though a small slit appeared near its neck….

Sonic Riders

If you have noticed, i have never done a review on a game i don't like. I will right now.
I rented this game but it wasn't even worth the trip. it bored me to death so fast i was probably drooling within 30 minutes. This game might look good on the commercials but trust me it is not worthy.
Lets play, 'How the Worst Game in the World is Bad.'
Way #1: This game has a sorry amount of tracks to race on
Way #2: the controls are none to great
Way #3: not only are the tracks few, they are also un-original
Way #4: This game is for DIE-HARD HARDCORE SONIC FANS ONLY
Way #5: Simply because it is nothing more than a racing game. a racing game should have enough tracks and gimmicks to keep you interested, Sonic Riders just doesn't deliver. which i think is important in a game.
The graphics are okay but the basic concept is bad. there idea was to make a passable sonic game. they didn't really put a lot of effort into it though, so i think it will only sell to little kids.
While they should have thought," Hey, lets make a great Sonic racing game and make it so much fun people won't be able to put it down! There could be weapons, obstacles, trick options..." But when i played it i thought
" Wow, they should have made a great sonic racing game and made it so i would a least vaguely enjoy it. there should have been things to make it interesting like weapons, obstacles, trick options. this could have been a truly great game..."
What a sorry excuse for wasting time. like i said, Die-hard Hardcore sonic fans ONLY.
I thought i saw something in you Sonic Riders, but i guess i mistaked it for something else. =(
